Newborn FAQs
Can you photograph my baby at my home?
Unfortunately, I do not offer in-home sessions for newborn photography. The equipment required, including props and other materials, is extensive and delicate to transport, posing a risk of damage. As a result, sessions are conducted exclusively in my studio to ensure the highest quality and safety for your newborn.
When is the best time to book a newborn/maternity session?
The earlier, the better! It's ideal to reach out to me during your second trimester to secure your newborn or maternity session. I recommend contacting me at least 2 months in advance to ensure availability however, I will always do my best to accommodate photoshoots for my clients.
When is the best time to do my baby's session?
The optimal time for your baby's session is when they are between 5 to 12 days old. During this period, babies tend to be more flexible for posing and typically sleep more soundly, allowing for smoother photo sessions. After this time frame, babies may become a bit more resistant to posing and are often more awake, which can make capturing those perfect shots a bit more challenging.
Do you include props in your sessions?
Absolutely! My newborn sessions include access to my prop collection. I have a wide variety of high-quality props. From bonnets, headbands, textured wraps to, buckets, and much more! Don't worry about a thing, everything is included in your session.
Are parents included in the session?
Yes, I encourage this! I appreciate some people don’t enjoy being in front of the lens but I feel it’s just as important for your baby to have these to look back on as they grow too.
What happens if my baby arrives early?
Don't worry! We can do the session during the first 12 days of birth. You can reserve your session with your due date as an estimate to secure your session on my schedule and we work around your baby's arrival.
Do you offer prints?
Yes, I firmly believe that my clients should never leave with just a digital copy only. Nothing beats a physical photograph and this way, I can ensure optimal print quality as this is incredibly important to me. I have invested in my own photo lab for this very reason.
Print quality
I spend a great deal of time considering the creative choices along with post production and I have found many photo printers do not deliver accurate representation to my work and often deliver poor quality due to uncalibrated equipment. I have invested in my own photo printing lab to ensure that I can deliver the best possible quality to my clients.
What is your photography style?
I'd say my style is very natural and rustic. I use a lot of neutral and earthy colours. I do always ask for colour preferences to ensure my work best blends into your home aesthetic.
Get in Touch
Once you have submitted your enquiry, I'll be in touch to find out when you'd like to have a chat. I've built my business on making meaningful connections with clients to ensure I can make your vision for the shoot a reality, and I can't wait to work with you.
